The Dolphin System measures specific characteristics of each patient to create an individualized immersion profile based on the patient's weight, surface area, and repositioning. Because this immersion profile is created according to each individual patient, it immerses them in a near buoyant state. This mattress delivers three-dimensional volumetric engagement which eliminates the gradient shear forces that you would encounter with your average bed.
This bed's immersion properties are ideal for treating skin flaps, grafts, and pressure ulcers. This mattress creates minimal tissue deformation, but also maintains near normal blood flow. This excellent blood float leads to improved wound healing.
The Dolphin Fluid Immersion Simulation Mattress System offers a 12-hour battery life, so therapy can continue even while a patient is being transported. This mattress fits existing bed frames, including ICU, medical/surgical, and bariatric bed frames. The mattress is available in standard, bariatric, and pediatric models. Wheelchair and stretcher configurations are also available.
